about

Originally created on a 2000-era Wallstreet Powerbook, these tracks are all based off a single simple Max/MSP patch (IDM-5) recorded to a DAT recorder using the internal audio card, then pitch shifted using Soundhack. These tracks represent a minimal approach to music which was new to me at the time, but which has informed much of my subsequent work.

The work was created to be a contemplative bit of computer music, and is best experienced at lower volumes.

(Note: These tracks are purposefully attenuated, since they are primarily artifact-laden sine waves. As a result, they may produce unexpected low level harmonic distortion. I suggest that you embrace this as a function of the work that will be unique to your listening environment.)
